About the Candidate Neto Longoria

I was born and raised in Eagle Pass and am a proud product of Texas public schools. After earning my degree from the University of Texas, I became a fully certified bilingual special education teacher and served students and families in both Eagle Pass and Austin ISD.

I’ve worked as a classroom teacher, parent support specialist, and PTA member—helping families navigate our school system and advocating for students who need support the most. Today, I’m a graduate student at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, building the policy expertise needed to govern responsibly at the state level.

I’m running for the Texas State Board of Education, District 5 because what we teach—and how we teach it—matters. Our students deserve an honest curriculum, modern instruction, and strong public schools that reflect the diversity and lived experiences of Texas communities.
